Dempsey
Lively dynamic and good for commuters as it is the most Northeastern neighbourhood (closest to Mississauga and Toronto) with the GO Station located here. This area is also close to the heart of Milton’s shopping centre (tons of shopping and restaurants) as well as the library and the Living Arts Centre. The homes here were built in the early 2000s and provide a mix of detached and semi-detached homes. Sandwiched between Hwy 401 to the north and train tracks to the south plus all the retail, this won’t be the most peaceful area but rates high for convenience.
Bronte Meadows
Older area, developed in the 1980s. Many original families moving out and families with younger kids moving in. In the way of homes, you’ll find a little bit of everything from ranch style to split level to 2-storey homes and some townhome complexes. This neighbourhood is within walking distance of schools, the hospital, and downtown or Old Milton including the Milton Fairgrounds.
Harrison
Overlooking the Niagara Escarpment to the West, this area is newer and boasts Hawthorne Village as an award-winning community. The parks and schools are all concentrated in the middle of the neighbourhood. This neighbourhood is also home to the Milton Velodrome.
Dorset Park
Homes are older as most were built in the ’70s and ’80s. Wider lots and mature trees will be found here with parks nearby. Pedestrian friendly with a mix of original owners and newer families moving in. This area neighbours Dempsey so will be in close proximity to shopping areas and highways but yet tucked away with a more serene community feel
Scott
Affluent community with newer homes – built mostly after 2007. Great views of the Niagara Escarpment will be enjoyed in this area as well as ponds, green space, and parks. Lots of outdoor amenities such as hiking, and biking trails as well as parks with splash pads and sports fields. This area is close to conservation areas such as Rattlesnake Point, Hilton Falls, and Kelso.
Timberlea
This area is very centrally located, in the heart of Milton and bordering many other neighbourhoods and having a higher walk score. Being central offers close proximity to shopping, such as the Milton Mall and eateries that can be found off Nipissing Rd, Main & Ontario Street. Easy access to the Milton GO. An older area with homes being built in the 70s with larger lot sizes, and mature trees that offer privacy.
